I am Ashley!
I married the love of my life 12 years ago after six years of dating. I am a homemaker and Mother of two Beau (7) and Arrow (6). I love God, family time, cooking, reading, karaoke, crafting, music, and holidays among other things. I am a former Beauty Queen, I hold a Masters Degree in Education, a Real Estate License, I am a pageant coach and producer, and I am also a Certified Diamontologist (now there’s one only a select few know). Although I am not exactly sure of who I am these days beyond the food-stained clothes and countless hours of laughter, LOL I love my life! Accolades aside I have set aside many of my roles outside of the home and found fulfillment in homemaking. So now that we’ve covered the “statistical” information that most readers look for on the about me page let’s move on…
So Why ELMM?
My Mom was a SAHM. We went to public school and she had a daycare in her home. She also had an event planning business and a catering business. On top of that, she was a youth leader and minister at our church and very heavily involved in ministry.
Despite all of her responsibilities, our mornings were sweet and easy. Good food, laughter, and so much love. I never understood how she did it. I found myself praying one day that my motherhood journey could be Easy Like Mama’s Morning and God said that’s it, that’s the name of your brand. He later gave me a name for our homeschool that uses the same acronym (just in case I was doubting that the name came from Him), but more about that later.
I welcome you, Believers, Wives, Moms, Families, Crafters, The Self Proclaimed Chef, Business Owners, Domestic Engineers, Soon to be Moms, Women, Life Enthusiasts, Homeschooling Families, Fathers, Travelers, and Homemakers alike. I’m sure I’ve missed someone somewhere but please forgive me I’m going to have to blame it on my “Mommy” brain and update it later!
But whoever you are and whatever phase of life you’re in, if you’ve been led here then you’re in the right place this is not your typical Mommy and me lifestyle blog filled with pretty pictures and all Happy Days. Although there will be a boatload of those, every day is not this way and I will be candid in my posts while highlighting the everyday situations in which we can be thankful or have reason to “look on the bright side”.
God doesn’t bless perfect parenting. He blesses humble parenting.
